Innopolis is a world-scale project, it is unique in creating conditions for comfortable living and work of young IT specialists and their families. Houses, kindergartens, a school, a university, health and sports facilities have been built for them.
The “Smart City” concept helps Innopolis organize the infrastructure, business, education, city services and everyday life of Innopolis residents so that it is comfortable to live in an IT city.
While there is arguing in a society about the potential "rise of the machines", the threats from big data and artificial intelligence, new technologies transform one of the major areas of human life - medicine. What will be its future? The main aspects of the medicine of the future are: personalized treatment, individual diagnostics, creation of new drugs using artificial intelligence, robotization of surgery and therapy, as well as curation of digital platforms for patient recovery after surgery or illness.
Global challenges raise the attention to the urgent need to replace the obsolete conventional economic model to a new sustainable resource-efficient model – the circular economy – the economy of innovation, both technical and social. The circular economy today finds its application in many areas of industrial complexes: automotive industry, production of chemical and medical equipment, pharmaceuticals and much more.
Oil and chemistry
The Republic of Tatarstan is one of the leading regions of the Gas and Petrochemical Complex in Russia. The region produces about 40% of synthetic rubbers, more than 50% of truck tires, 15% of passenger tires and plastics, 13% of detergents produced in the country.
Since 1999, all enterprises of the Gas and Petrochemical Complex have been modernized, the capacity of a wide range of plastic products for industrial and household purposes has been created, a consortium of independent oil companies has been formed.
The systematic policy of the regional authorities to increase the efficiency of raw materials processing has achieved high results. The main action was the intrarepublican integration of enterprises that allowed the sectors of oil production, oil refining, chemistry and petrochemistry to be considered as a single complex.
Education today is a process of continuous development of the human personality, knowledge and skills, abilities to make judgments and take actions. Today we can take educational process as a tool to construct person's image in accordance with those value orientations that he/she has chosen from among those suggested to him/her as relevant.

GLOBAL ENVIRONMENTAL CHALLENGES ARE SIGNIFICANTLY NEEDED TO REPLACE AN OUTDATED TRADITIONAL ECONOMIC MODEL WITH A SUSTAINABLE RESOURCE EFFECTIVE MODEL BASED ON SOCIALLY TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATIONS.
The pandemic has opened up opportunities for a more conscious and speedy development of the circular economy all over the world. Many experts are confident that despite the consequences caused by the spread of coronavirus infection, today there are quite favorable conditions for the effective recovery and reuse of vital resources. The risks that threaten the existence of mankind have become more noticeable, so people have begun to be more aware of their health and well-being, to strive to reduce the level of various adverse effects.
How can cluster interaction help implement a circular economy? How can clusters in a post-pandemic world work on regional competitiveness indicators, taking into account the “green” agenda? How can clusters help in solving global environmental challenges?
The transition to a circular economy model is becoming global in nature, and the benefits of implementing this concept are becoming more obvious. Expanding the scale of the circular economy at the global level requires a combination of business models, technological advances and innovations, as well as the joint efforts of stakeholders, including representatives of business and government from regional practices to solving global problems.
Successful regional cases on the implementation of the principles of a circular economy. The role of clusters in the transition to the principles of a circular economy.
The force of the globalization process is the modernization and transition of the world economy, primarily of the industrialized countries, to a new technological order, which, along with the qualitative renewal of the technological base, increasing the efficiency of production and the competitiveness of the economy, is designed to improve the quality of life and the living environment.
Should corporations become drivers of the transition to a circular economy? What are the main directions of development should corporations include in their strategic documents? Can corporations use clusters to help them to test their innovations in the regions?
The two main trends in the education of the countries of the world today are globalization and regionalization. These tendencies at the same time are antipodes and mutually complement each other. Currently, in order to be competitive, the education system must be global, provide all types of educational services demanded by consumers and the economy.
How can clusters help in upskilling and reskilling of specialists to increase the competitiveness of regions? What skills should cluster managers have in the conditions of modern reality? Universities and clusters - new forms of interaction.
• Global trend - local actions
• Circular city / region
• Corporations as leaders of change in the region
• Role of clusters in training and retraining of
personnel for a changing economy
CITIES TODAY ARE NOT ONLY A PLACE FOR PEOPLE TO LIVE. CITIES ARE DEVELOPING AND PRESERVING HISTORY, INTRODUCING NEW TECHNOLOGIES AND PROMOTING AN IMPROVEMENT OF THE QUALITY OF LIFE, EFFECTIVE BUSINESS AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE ECONOMY.
In the modern world, smart city technologies are being introduced to ensure sustainable development on the Earth. New cities are making full use of the benefits of digital technology, reducing energy consumption and preserving the environment. The Smart City concept is characterized by three basic parameters: Manufacturability. Intellectualization. Focus on lifestyle. A “smart city” should be environmentally friendly, safe, energy-intensive, offering ample opportunities and ensuring the most comfortable life.
What makes a city “smart”? What technologies can be implemented now? Which industries should we start with? How to work with the population to involve them in the modernization of urban space? A city as a space where you want to live or need to survive?
Megopolises and clusters possessing the appropriate infrastructure, information, resources, a special nature of relations with the external environment, are able to provide both innovative and organizational-institutional, spatial-organizational, sociocultural, integration, information and communication orientation in the activities of business entities.
How can clusters "live" in megacities? What is better "city-cluster" or "city of clusters"? What (specific) problems do clusters in megacities solve? Are they different from the problems of small towns? What are the main trends in the development of megacities and the role of clusters?
Clusters today are increasingly being formed on the territory of single-industry towns, since it is more logical and easier to build cooperative interaction in an environment where everyone is interested in producing a large final product.
How to combine the features of single-industry towns and clusters? How the cluster approach can help the development of small manufacturing centers? How to start the process of "revitalization" of old industrial cities?
The cluster agenda today is more relevant than ever not only for industrial, but also for creative associations. Urban, film, fashion and other industries are looking at the cluster approach and creating sustainable development chains.
How to help for creation and development of clusters in creative and urban spheres. Citizens' participation in creative and urban movements.
• Cities of the future. Smart City Technologies
• Clusters in megacities
• Clusters in the development of cities with industrial
heritage and small manufacturing centers
• The role of clusters in creating a comfortable and
WE LIVE IN AN ERA OF OPPORTUNITY, IN COUNTRIES WHERE THE MECHANISM OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND MODERNIZATION HAS BEEN LAUNCHED. THE PRIORITY IS EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR BUSINESS, CITIZENS AND INVESTORS TO PARTICIPATE IN THEM. THE FUTURE CANNOT BE BUILT ALONE.
A “reboot” is required to meet the current innovation agenda of the cluster strategy. How to synchronize cluster support tools and programs is an open question. The use of smart specialization will make it possible to create competitive clusters in the face of uncertainty and growing economic and technological transformations.
How to combine cluster policy and smart specialization? How to properly restart cluster policy with smart specialization in mind? An example of the best broadcast cases. How to link the cluster approach with tools for finding and launching "breakthrough" projects? What is critically lacking at the current stage of state support?
Currently, in areas of high economic activity, scientific and expert communities consider global value chains as one of the tools for increasing the degree of economic integration of regional economies. Now a stable basis is being formed for interaction between large and small businesses and building new technological chains, which will allow not just arithmetically combining everything that has already been created in terms of supporting small and medium-sized businesses, but really achieve a synergistic effect and dramatically increase the efficiency of existing tools.
Which tools are work and which ones can been discarded? Will broadcasting successful experiences to other regions help?
Modernization in the health care system actualizes issues related to its reaching a new level of development, setting tasks for medical organizations to improve the quality of medical services and increase their availability to the population. By creating medical clusters, it is possible to build favorable conditions for the functioning of medical institutions, increasing their innovative potential and quality of service.
How to overcome barriers in creating medical clusters? What objects of innovative infrastructure should be included in medical clusters?
Today, in the face of global economic and environmental challenges, it is difficult to imagine a future without global partnership and international cooperation. Clusters, as entry points, can become the main platform for building productive intercountry interaction.
How can clusters help solve global challenges? How have clusters changed? How to build competent interaction? New forms of interaction. Strong global partnerships and collaborations What digital platforms will help build trusting inter-cluster connections?
• Clusters and new technologies in new forms of
• Embedding SMEs in technology chains
• Development of medical clusters
• Clusters without borders

SVIYAZHSK ISLAND TOWN TOUR ABOUT 5 HOURS
A tour to the “island-city” of Sviyazhsk - one of the main sights in Tatarstan. It is located 30km from Kazan among picturesque scenery on a 62-hectare island in the mouth of the River Sviyaga. Sviyazhsk marks the first place of Russian settlement in the area, founded in 1551 by Ivan the Terrible as a Russian base for his campaigns against the Kazan Khanate. A fortress was constructed in the city of Uglich by Ivan Vyrodkov (Russia’s first military engineer) and then sailed in sections down the Volga where it was pieced together on top of the Lysaya Hill. The Sviyazhsk Fortress was a grand project of its age and a year later, in 1552, Kazan fell to the Russians.
Over the years the settlement developed and grew rich and churches and monasteries were founded here. Famous mediaeval architects Ivan Shiryai and Postnik Yakovlev later worked on Sviyazhsk’s church and monastery complexes. Many other architectural landmarks from various eras are also found here, which even rival cities of Russia’s Golden Ring tourist route.
OLD BOLGAR TOUR ABOUT 11 HOURS
The Great Bolgar - religious relic and the historical homeland of the Volga Tatars, known in the Muslim world as the «Northern Mecca», is about three hours» drive of Kazan. It is here that one of the tourist gems of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Bulgarian State Historical and Architectural Museum and Heritage Site is located. In 2014 it was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Most of the ruins left in Bolgar are from the period when it served as the capital of the Golden Horde. Mausoleums, palaces, mosques and Orthodox churches dot the terrain. Be sure to visit the Cathedral Mosque, the Black Chamber, and the East Mausoleum, the 700-year-old burial chamber for Bolgar nobility. Also be sure to check out the remains of the vast Khan's palace and the holy spring "Well of Gabdrakhman", whose waters are said to have healing powers.
Bolgar’s newer buildings are equally as impressive. The "Memorial Sign", a shrine to the adoption of Islam, is a house of the largest printed Koran in the world. (The book weighs 500 kg!) The massive White Mosque is a reconstruction replica of its ancient predecessor which was destroyed in the 15th century. The expansive complex is a true gem of Tartar architecture.
